I got my hands on a used Glock mag Sub2000.........MAAAN!
Ragged hole 50 foot accuracy.. a Glock 19 carbine that folds...great idea!
I went through an all nite learning course on how to PUSH the bolt past the hammer.... then i came here and found all the info Icould have wanted in one place!

What are the must have items or mods?

I want to order a lock key and the bolt housing cover and maybe a sling....any suggestions?

I like the dust cover. Never needed the stock extension.

If I still had a Sub2K the dust cover would be first on my list. The coolest accessory I had was an old used zippered gun bag that was about 18 inches by 10 inches (if my memory serves) that was a perfect fit for the S2K. Good quality vinyl outside, sheepskin type stuff inside. That was cool carrying a "rifle" in a small zippered attache' bag like that. I hated the idea of putting on attachments that would hinder my ability to compact carry the S2K. Some day I will probably get another one - when ammo prices get back to affordable levels :roll:

The stock extension is a matter of comfort. I tried one, and went a different route. Check BEFORE spending money on the dust cover. They will not fit on Subs after a certain build date. Something to do with the feed ramp being built into the back of the barrel after that date. I think they will only fit the Subs with a flush built chamber. Just call and ask before you spend on that one. I tried to get one last year, and was told it wouldn't fit mine.

As to other accessories, you don't want my advice. :wink:

P2, you ARE the accessory to the Sub2K!

Must haves (Kel-tec Accessories) = stock extension, sling, forearm picatinny rail and spare mag holder.

After that, you need to install a rail on top of the forearm for a red dot. If done correctly, removing the scope still allows the carbine to be folded. *)

Re;stock extension- Try Missouri Tactical Products LLC- about same price as KelTecs but no drilling etc-- installs in seconds- slips right on over rear of stock.

MCarbo now makes a flip to the side mount of a red dot for the Sub 2000. A little price but it is awesome and allows you to fold the firearm. (I transport to the range in a backpack)

Still holding zero and is co-witnessed to my stock sights.

I would like to get that M-Carbo flip mount someday for my Sub-2000 40 but I went another direction for lack of extra funds. For rthose in the same financial position that wants a red dot that is quick enough to install on a sub-2000 then check out this low profile dovetail picatinny mount with larger quick thumb screw locks that was only $12.00! lol ....It may take an extra step to lock in the red dot but for improved aesthetics, a quick mount and being only $12 compared to the lower end model M-Carbo at $110, I thought hell....Why TFN right? I can still unfold it in a quick situation and use the built in iron sights when necessary but when an extra 10 seconds is available then I have the red dot as well and on the cheap. It also does co-witness the front sight in the red dot so that is nice to have lined up as well.

Just for an additional note to others here I actually saved money on most of the other upgrades for my Sub-2000. I hated the original charging handle as most do with this gun. I wanted the M-Carbo recoil reducing handle but again at $40 some dollars all these little items start adding up to costs that rival the price I paid fo the weapon. I take it as a fun challenge to come up with a work around that actually do the same job but cheaper. To upgrade the original handle I took a thick solder wire and tightly wrapped it in several layers around the center or the handle building it out. I then took heavy duty gaf tape to cover the solder wire and give it a better appearance and cover any edges. I will upgrade that to a heavy shrink wrap but I didn't have any on the house so for now it's the tape. I did add 2 tight leather bands that I happened to find which improved the look and comfort further. These upgrades not only improved the comfort and the ease of operation but it increased the weight to equal that of the M-Carbo handle which is about 3 oz. This now makes this an equal to the recoil reducing charging handle with the added ease of operation. I also found a alternative recoil buffer washer pad right in my own stuff at home. I got to see the dimensions and the material make up of the recoil reducing buffer pad that most sell for $10 plus tax and shipping. Between all 3 upgrades I have saved $160 total in the parts plus taxes and shipping and still have a working gun with a red dot sight and a big reduction in recoil for next to nothing. Of course I took safety into consideration and would not have done any of these upgrades unless I was absolutely sure I didn't compromise the gun in anyway. It all works flawlessly and saved money. Not a huge windfall but when finances are tight they can be crushing.

I prefer the MCARBO mount as I can still fold the weapon in half and fit it into a backpack.
I used to work at a shop and see red dots mounted to the rails integrated on the sub, but the shooters were constantly adjusting the zero. I showed 2 of them that the optic had come loos on the plastic rails. I met one guy at the range one day and showed him my mount and red dot and he shot the gun and was very impressed, to the point that the next time I saw him while I was working he came over and thanked me. He swapped his to the MCARBO mount as well.

Mine has almost 3k rounds thru it since the mounting of the red dot and the MCARBO mount that mounts to the frame and not to the plastic rails. It has been back and forth to the range more then a dozen times folded in the backpack and still holds the zero.

If you go that route make sure to blue locktite the mounting screws to hold them tight.
The secret is metal to metal. The plastic rails expand/and contract ever so slightly when the barrel gets warm and loosens the mounts.

do you know of anyone who’s has any luck with the Midwest swivel mount? I just like the compactness of it over the Mcardo because it looks like it will lay flatter when stored in my flat case.

Military Arms Channel has a video from about 6 years ago where he shows how the Midwest mount works and shows the folder gun with the mount.
