I've heard that Remington's UMC line is dirty, and considering the possible relationship between a dirty gun and the occurrence of smileys, this is not a good situation. I've been shooting Remington 95 gr. MC with little residue, and I have some Winchester white box BEBs, but I haven't fired any yet.
Can anyone confirm or deny the dirty UMC rumor? Tnx

I've shot tons of UMC in .38 special and find it no dirtier than Win white box.

:? I don't think -dirty pistol syndrome -has anything to do with -smileys-that is a function of next round being thrown againist bottom of feedramp during recoil. Dirty pistol might affect Failure to fire,or extract but, cleaning after every range session is my fix for that problem.UMC doesn't seem to be any dirtier in my experience than other name brand ammo, I just like PMC better(and a little cheaper) hereabouts. Clean bore, slide firing pin hole, extractor, after every session, and you should not have problems.Oh yes,and dry all areas with compressed air if available before lubeing.
