had a Ruger Vaquero one time in 45 long colt. i had a hard time shooting it as i had never fired or owned a single action revolver before. it had a 7.5" barrel. it was fun to take out but expensive to shoot......might not be the same but it was the closest that i have come to any rugers close to yours.
I’ve got a Ruger Super Redhawk 44 mag 7.5 inch barrel. I bought it for deer hunting this year. I shot twelve rounds through it and had to quit because my hand hurt. Mines scoped, pretty accurate at 75 yards. Have to get out and shoot it some more and get used to it.
5 1/2 inch barrel?
That is the PERFECT barrel length!
Of course with the shorter barrel it's really gonna sound like a thunderstorm, and you're gonna feel like you were struck by lightning...
I'd stick a pair of Hogue rubber grips on it just for comfort. They're inexpensive and work very well.
Dang, now I'VE got a hankering for one... gonna have to hit the shops tomorrow and see what they've got...
