New Board looks great!

Went to a local show yesterday and was looking at the
Kel-Tec Sub and noticed a sign that said "Pistol Permit Required".
Does the Sub Rifle need to be registered as a handgun?

I remember reading a post from a guy whose state law set a slightly longer limit for long arms than the usual 30". Sine the Sub comes in at about 30 1/16"... it was just under their limit and had to be treated as a really big pistol.

In that case, maybe we CAN consider it a pistol here in Florida -- then it would fall under the concealed carry laws....

A good question for Mr. Gutmacher.

I wonder if the SU-16 would fit the
same criteria?

Most likely not. The KT website lists the overall length (open) of the Sub2K as being 29.5", while it lists the open overall length of the SU-16 as being 37.4"

If 30" is the magic length, it would explain the problem with the Sub2K.

detroitshooter- what if you ordered the stock extention from KT and brought it to the gunshow and put it on before you bought the sub. the extention is at least another inch which would put the sub at 30.5 inches.not sure if it would be a legal way around the goofy law.
