Last sunday, I was out shooting my P3AT and noticed powder residue by the rim. It's only on part of the rim. It seems odd that gasses would be 'collecting' there. Is that normal for any semi-auto? Thanks for any responses.

Bit confused here...
Do you mean the case rim?
It would be unusual, yes, unless powder residue had collected in the firing pin/ejector area, or your case had a bit of lube on it that collected some residue...

The cases are mostly clean except a little by the rebated part of the rim. It doesn't seem to hurt anything it just seems a little odd that it is showing up there. My only other experience with a semi- auto is my Colt Woodsman. I thought maybe the case wasn't fitting properly in the chamber. It shoots great. Sunday the only failure to eject was the first shot, after that a box of Magtech shot without any problem.
