I was looking for a lubricant that would solve the problem of
oil and grease picking up lint etc.

What do you think of Poly Pro Tek?

Its supposed to be a polymer lubricant that can replace the use of oil and grease, inside and outside of the gun.

I haven't tried it yet.

I think no matter what you use, your gun will pick up lint. My keyboard picks up lint and I never oil it. If you are having severe problems with this, you may be over lubricating the wrong parts of the gun. The barrel shouldn't be drenched in lubricant. Just a whisper of a coat will do. Too much may be worse than none.

Agreed.
I use Break-Free CLP on everything, and clean regularly.
Some of the other lubricants also don't give adequate rust protection... something to keep in mind.

The best lube I have found for reducing lint and dust build-up is DuPont Multi-use Dry Lubricant with Teflon, it goes on wet then dries and can hold up under heat. I found it at Lowes in the tool section and heard it is also available at Ace Hardware and True Value.
