After perfect experiences with my P32 and P11, I decided to
give a P3AT a try. After the customary F&B, fired 150 rounds
resulting in more FTF/FTE than I could count. Took it home,
cleaned it up, tried again. Same result – she was ready for the
trash.
I noticed that if I hand cycled it very slowly, the next round
would always jam on the feed ramp. Yes, I’m aware of
the “physics of feeding,” but I just didn’t think this was right. I
began removing metal from the ramp until I reached the point
where I could hand cycle it VERY slowly and the rounds would
chamber. Polished it up, added a Houge Handall Jr and Bersa
extension. 200 rounds this morning with 2 FTE after ~175
rounds (getting tired I think – also shooting my P11 and .357
Magnum).
Anyway – looks like she’s good to go now. My personal
opinion: the feedramps need a little attention and these guns
are next to impossible to shoot without a mag extension (just
my opinion…).
