Hello everyone, just purchased a Sub2000. At age 73, pulling the charging handle back after having trigger finger surgery on my shooting hand was virtually impossible. So as a retired engineer and after reading many, many posts, I decided to solve my issue. I wanted a quick solution so I could go to the range on Arizona election day, August 2.
For me, the solution needed to be longer than the factory handle (remember weak fingers). I tried several ideas, 1/2" rubber tubing ( too wiggly), a 1/2" to 3/4" sprinkler adapter (too cheesy) and finally a 1/2"x4" PVC sprinkler riser ($.75).
The ID of the riser was just tight enough to be tapped onto the factory handle all the way up to the flange. Please no it's not pretty or real gunsmitty, as a retired enginner I don't to do pretty, it just has to work. I left it full length to give me a longer handle to pull on but it could be shortened to any length.
Also I discovered if I turn the rifle over on its back, I could pull the charging handle with the side of my hand which helped a lot.
Hope these pictures help.
