My local (15 minutes away) trading post has "American" brand ammo in .32 and .380. It's priced no cheaper than what I can get Winc. for at Wal-Mart, but the nearest Wal-Mart is 40 minutes away. Any comments as to quality, performance?

Never used it.
But... it never hurts to buy a box and give it a shot. It's not likely to do any harm to your pistol, so I'd try some!

I am hooked on Federal. Its real clean burning and not badly priced.

I can't comment specifically on .32 or .380 ACP American Ammo but my experience with their 9 mm is that it's very poorly made. The fired cases jam in my reloading press' shell holder and the primer pockets are improperly sized. I'd avoid it.
