I shot my Sub 2000 for the first time yesterday ( I shoot left handed) and I experienced blow back debris in my face. I will try a different ammo ( I was shooting a Remington brown box) next time. If it continues with different ammo, I will switch to right handed which I do occasionally. The good news is that I went thru 150 rds. with no functional issues at all and the POI was spot on out of the box. I see this post goes back over 6 months. Is this a common issue with the sub 2000?

I'm a lefty shooter. Any blow back action will have more trash coming out than a locked breach. That said, I have a bunch of rounds out of my S2K gen 1, and I haven't had any issue with blow back debris. Also some ammo brands are dirtier than others. Either way, shooting glasses are always a good thing.

I'm a lefty- I have a Gen 2 .40, and with Remington 180 grns it did not blow crap, but with Magtech 180 grns it did. A real blast in the face.
I think the Magtechs must be hotter loads (or use slower burning powder) since they did this. To slow down the bolt, sending more gases out of the muzzle, I'm going to try the heavy brass bolt Keltec sells for these things. It is only an oz or two heavier, but it might just be enough.
I'll report back after the next outing.

If you are a lefty take a look at the CX4 Storm by Beretta. I have one and it is completely ambidextrous. I have to believe any blow back action with a right side breach is going to be a problem for a lefty. How much of a problem you are willing to put up with is a personal choice.

    Take Care
