Question about a trade for a sub 2000?

I have a like new M&P 9mm Pro 5 inch barrel and I'm thinking about trading for a brand new Kel Tec 2000 plus 10 used Glock 17 magazines. I looked on Gunbroker and saw the Kel Tec selling in the $500 range and I think my M&P is worth about $570 but with the 10 extra magazines I thought it was a fair deal but then I read that the regular price is only $300 I'm wondering if I'm making a huge mistake. I think the Kel Tec looks like a cool little rifle and most of the reviews I read are positive but was wanting a few opinions from actual owners. This is my first post.

Firearms values these days aren't what they used to be. If a model is popular, hard to find, or especially both; even used prices can be at or above MSRP. And if you're looking for new, prices can be astronomical. For example: look at the MSRP for the PMR-30 and KSG, then look at some of the asking prices on the auction sites.

Location can also be a factor.

The bottom line is even if you end up getting shorted a bit in the trade, if you would rather have the other gun, does it really matter? Within reason, of course.
