    SU16A accuracy??

I am thinking about buying a SU16A but I was not sure of accuracy. I am not a real good shot but it drives me nuts when I can't get close to MOA. I guess I am just use to my Remington 700's some of which shoot MOA at 200 yards out of the box. I know this is not that type of rifle but I would like to know what to expect.

    I have several moa rifles.
The SU-16a is not one of them. But the SU-16 is my favorite.
Rifles are tools. There are NO tools that do everything perfect.
For quick pointing and be able to put deadly fire on the object in your sight,,,,the SU-16a is made for this task.

    What to expect, you say?
Well, Federal says not to expect any better than 2" groups at 200 yards (I've given their link below). And I'd have to believe, that result was achieved under their very carefully controlled test firing conditions. Probably not something your average, run-of-mill shooter is going to be able to duplicate. I'd personally have to think I'd be very satisfied if I could get results that were 2x (or even 3x, if windy) larger than that. That would still yield a shot group that could take out a man-sized silhouette target at that range.

As MrChuck basically said, if you want bench rest accuracy, you'd be better off sticking with your Remington. However, if you're after a great little varmint rifle that is light and a blast (pardon the pun) to shoot, then it's awfully hard to beat the SU16.

well I will know after this week-end. i have squeezed moa out of a lot of rifles and maybe this will be one. MOA at 100 yds is enough for me. I have already worked over the trigger. I need to do some more work on it but for now we will see what happens. Let you know soon.

Also, the military grade ammo will only allow 3 MOA in their mfg specs. So,,,,good luck there.

    Well,,,your points are clear.
As long as I can hit a "target" 100 yards from me with my SU_16 I am happy.
I have "other weapons" that can "reach out and touch you at 400 meters".
