Applying for my CCW in Va.

Today I am going to go apply for my CCW license today. I called the courthouse to make sure of what I needed and here's the list. You must have proof of a hunters safety course or any sort of guns training class. Must have a exact dates of where you have lived for the past 5 years. Must have a Va address. And you must bring 15$ cash or check to the courthouse (at least the one where I live) And thats it. Or so I hope. haha
    damn this snow is cold.

I don't remember the price, but the rest sounds right. I'm still using my VA CCW in MO - it's good until next year and MO honors it. I used my DD-214 from the Navy as military service counts for firearms training in VA. It doesn't in MO so I'm gonna have to take a course next year.

Hoping it's acceptable for me to open-up this rather dated thread, but I have a question about this very topic.

I completed the safety course back on January 5th (of this year, 2011), and, well, actually I have two (2) questions, please:

    1. Is there any deadline for me to get my application into the courthouse, as it's already been over 60 days since I received my certificate of completion of the course?

    2. Above and beyond the directions laid-out here by Dillypwacker (and thank you sir for it by the way), don't I have to print-off (or otherwise obtain) an application form (of several pages if I recall correctly) from the Virginia State Police, to fill-in, and present at the courthouse, in addition to the other, aforementioned data, please?

    Thanks in advance,
    Glenn

the most sure way to get those questions answered are to call your local sheriffs office and ask, since it seems that your permits are issued at the county level.
