I had an idea that i plan on trying out with my pf9 that will make it alot easier to pocket carry. I was thinking about this for a while, i could shorten the magwell and either shorten the hammer spring or replace it, and shortening a magazine would be fairly easy. so long as whatever i do with the hammer spring maintains enough strenth to fire the changes wouldnt affect the overall functionality of the gun, and it could still use standard lenth magazines as well. Of course i will secure a new grip from keltec b4 cutting what i got.

I'll have to check, but I think someone recently did something similar to a Kahr PM9 (which is q good bit smaller than a PF9). When I get the time, I will look for the thread on the Kahr forum.

Man, it takes balls of steel to try this on a Kahr... Cost of failure on the PF-9 is about $45 and some time. Cost of failure on the PM9 is about $700. And lots of time crying.

I am wanting to do this since i dont shoot it very often, and as a case in point i put 70rds of wwb 230gr thru my dads kimber ultra monday and it was a pleasure, then loaded 2 mags of wwb 115gr in for the pf9 and i just didnt want to shoot it any more, i guess my dad is spoiling me, lol. So in light of this, and making every possible effort to either get myself a kimber ultra or dan wesson cco, regular shooting of the pf9 will no longer be a priority. The local walmart is getting craploads of .40 and regularly getting 9mm and .45 i may be soon getting a sigma 9mm and .40(my cousin has the .40 and hasnt had any issues) since they are going for $300 each.

Dont get me wrong i am still a big fan of kel-tec, it is a great and reliable handgun for conceal carry, and im gonna try and make it just a bit easier to pocket, i just dont want to shoot it very much anymore. Yeah i know some will call me a wuss, i am not, i am in enough pain, and having to take meds for it, on a daily basis i just dont want to add any more to it.

Everyone's hands are different, and what may be fun for me might be causing you serious pain. Shoot the ones you enjoy, and do enough to remain proficient with the PF-9 and you are good to go!

Nothing wrong with the current crop of Sigmas,sort of like a full sized Kel-Tec..Have had one for several years and it goes right along with the P-11..Both are keepers but it seems as though the M&P gets more range time..The KT is the carry piece..Got to put the clip back on for summer carry though..

Credit card still 90% balance, so will still be a bit b4 i can order the new grip, but I did a complete disassemble at work and feel confident that i can not only shorten the grip and a magazine but do a little trigger work as well, for instance the small amount of uptake, make a new trigger that will be more comfortable and maybe even shorten the trigger pull by shortening the trigger bar, since it does not need to completely be released to reset, another idea i had is making a slightly different hammer. The more i take this lil gun apart the more ideas i have pop into my head as different ways to modify this thing.
