How about someone post some detail steps/pictures how to polish the ramp and chamber?
Everyone talks about how easy it is but, don't tell you how to do it.

HERE is a link for you. Scroll down until you get to the barrel prep section.
I personally like to use a cheap, rounded ball-point pen body (not the kind that will shatter) and wrap a 2" square of 600 grit sandpaper on one end it, then secure the bottom with a rubber band. If your ramp is pretty smooth, a polishing cloth or felt bob/Dremel and some Flitz works well. The key if you have to use the sandpaper is to use a front-to-back motion, not side-to-side. Don't change the shape of the ramp, just remove any rough areas. In the old days (pre-2005), ramps were rougher and I had to use 400 grit paper to get started, but that shouldn't be the case with a KT pistol of recent manufacture.
Have fun! I enjoyed doing the work on my pistol quite a bit.

So for the PF-9 do most of the people do all of this or just some of this?
my PF9 did not absolutely have to have any F&B.... I just like to use the 600 grit paper to assist in the break in. All I did was a bit of polishing on the ramp, and in the chamber, and a minor bit on the hammer initerface. I never had a single ftf or fte in 300-500 rounds.
I also used the 600 and 1500 paper to polish the exterior of the barrel. Again, not necessary, but it sure looked good![]()

Cool. I think I will get some 600 or higher grit sand paper and do the same. I wish I could say the same about the ftf. I was reading on here that the higher gr rounds are more accurate and some are saying they had problems with ftf with the hever rounds. There sure is a lot of info to read on this site.
I just use my Dremel and a felt "bulletpoint" with some jewelers rouge and work it to a mirror finish.

I need to polish my barrel Its pitted up or maybe just discolored can you get it to polish with compound without tarnishing later or is it something you have to keep doing?
damn this snow is cold.
pocketgun. You were talking about a polishing cloth. Do you know where I could get one? I will be going to the store this weekend and would like to get the stuff to get this done. Thanks
duckmans83, any soft cotton cloth and the Flitz will do. I used 8-10 2" cleaning patches to polish the barrel on a P-3AT, for no other reason than that I had them handy. They do make polishing cloth, though I have never tried it. If it is abrasive, it will not really do anything different than the really fine grit sandpaper.
