The grip, aka, the receiver without the action.

Kel-Tec sells replacement grips for the P-3AT for $34 (P-3AT grips) in black, green or gray. But with an affordable little pistol like this, why not have some fun. Order a grip and then paint it yourself. I am going to try this and see how well it works. Caution: use an appropriate paint! From all I have read, for the paint to last and not rub off, you need a duracoat paint. There are gunsmiths out there that will do this for you, but I found this dealer, Lauer Weaponry, that sells a turn-key system called Durocoat Shake 'N Spray for $29. Let me know if you have any experience with this product and I will make a post once I try it.

One time I had a old shotgun that was all rusted up and looked horrible.
I bought it at a yard sale for only $5 dollars so I was not out much no matter what.
The woman told me that her husband used to be a TV repairman and he kept the shotgun behind the toilet in his store and customers would use the restroom and pea on the gun.
    WELL...
After hearing that I went to the car and got my gloves and a plastic bag to put the gun in.

Got it home and just through the rotten stock and forearm away.
Replaced it with a plastic pistol grip and plastic forearm.
Sanded all the metal down to where there was not even one spot of bluing left.

Had a can of chrome that was in a regular spray can like paint and painted all the metal and it did not look bad.
I gave the gun to my son and he still has it and even after shooting the gun the heat did not cause any problems.
The gun still looks like it is nickel plated.
Think Wal-Mart sells this crome in a can.
