    Sent Mine in for repairs

    Hi all
I've had my P3AT for a while, serial number XX4XX, and have carried and shot it religiously. I prefer to shoot off carry ammo along with practice ammo fairly frequently.
I had the small channel, which retains the ejector, break on the innermost part and not be able to hold the ejector.
Sent it in to Kel-Tec for repairs.
    Miss the little guy.
Love the boards and thanks for the info.
Will update you on my repairs.
    Tom

That's the very first time I've heard of such a failure.
Let us know what KT has to say about it! 8)

    Hi All
KT didn't say anything about my failure. From the looks of my returned gun -- The grip (plastic) is new, the alum base is new and the barrel is new (no rampectomy). The gun is stamped with the original serial number. Went to the range today to try it. Range was too busy, didn't want to wait.
The frame is made different now. The old extractor, of which I have two, doesn't fit into the new groove. also the extractor is shorter and the bottom rear edge is beveled. The rocoil spring guide rod has very small ridges on it. Possibly like the lathe cutting the guide rod was set for thead cutting (very fine).
I am going to try it "as is". But it sure does feel funny vibrating while retracting the slide.
Glad to have my buddy back, but he's new and has to proove himself.

Well, you have the newer version, similar to mine. Should work fine.

Those ridges can't be a good thing. To my knowlege, the guide rod should be nice and smooth. In fact, polishing the guide rod is part of the standard fluff 'n buff. I would call KT, tell them about the ridges and ask them to send out a new one. Meanwhile, take some 400 grit and remove the ridges. Finishing off with something finer wouldn't hurt. Get it smooth as a baby's butt, then apply a drop of lube.
