    Ammo choices

Expect to buy my first Kel-Tec, a new, 2G, P-32 in Hard Chrome as soon as it is shipped. Ordered it about 10 days ago and want to obtain an adequate supply of cheap practice ammo in a variety of types to break in pistol before deciding on eventual carry ammo. Have discovered numerous brands in both "name brand" as well as others I have no experience with. Would like to hear from anyone with experience with any of the following:

    Anguila 71gr, FMJ--$7.73 box
    American Ammo 71gr, TMJ--$5.99 box
    Dynamit 73gr, FMJ--$6.95 box
    Fiocchi 73gr, MC--$8.33 box
    S&B 73gr, FMJ--$8.05 box

Any other suggestions would also be appreciated. Thanks,

i have been shooting the aquila in my wifes 32 kt and it is good amo. We normally only shoot rem fmj but it is about 3 bucks higher, so i tried the aquila and it works great, brass cases, nice roundBUT IMO it is a dirtier round than the Rem fmj, so we clean the 32 every 100 rounds or so. Again no malfunctions at all with that ammo. Mag Tech is also another excellent round . My advice is to find a good round that works perfect and stay with it. If aquila ever gets within a buck of the rem ammo, I willgo right back to Rem. brand. American made and quality ammo.. I have not heard any good things about the American ammo brand though, the price is certainly good but maybe that should tell you something about the round also.

Many have reported hard primer issues with the S&B(light strikes etc..)in all calibers..even with glocks..however some guns handle them. I like the Dynamit Nobel for a cheap good practice ammo but carry CorBon in a Flyer-Wired mag.

Avoid the American Ammunition, headstamped AMERC. It's generally percieved to be total junk with out of spec casings, cheap brass, under and over powered loads, etc. AMERC is not to be confused with Federal American Eagle which is good.

The others you listed are fine, although, as mentioned, S & B may have some light strikes. I like the Fiochhi, Dynamit Nobel and Aguila as I can get them for about $7 per box at local gunshows. Rem UMC and even Win White box have also workrd in mine. IMO, the P32 is not as finicky as the 3AT, but they can still have their prefernces. It's good to function test several brands. Also, some rounds may be more accurate than others in a given gun. The most accurate in my gun is Fed Classic but it is not cheap and is reserved for the Postal Match.

    American

Ditto on the American. I've got a S&W revolver and the brass has a real hard time coming out - it seems like it swells in the cylinder. With an auto, I've got to believe it can contribute to fte problems - it's hard to say, but if it causes issues in a revolver, one never knows.

I have had good luck with the magtech in a different auto for what that's worth.

Sellier & Bellot does have hard primers but my Second-Generation P-32 purchased in December shoots it fine. I checked and the Firing Pin Spring had been factory clipped, so there was virtually no pressure on the FP. I had to use a pick to pull the spring out, as it was so short. I called Kel-Tec and they sent me a new spring but suggested a leave well enough alone.

Wilson – who’s smart enough to put that extra spring in his parts box

Try Natchez Shooters Supplies and you will find several FMJ .32acp at less than $9.00/ box including some listed at the start of this topic. I do not expect to carry hollow points so I have not priced them.
