Slide wont lock back after last round

I have a metgar 10 round mag and I took my p11 to the range a few months ago and i noticed when the mag is empty the slide wont lock back so I found my self pulling the trigger and it was empty. This is my only pistol so its also my carry gun, Im wondering if any one can help me figure out the problem as I am relying on this gun as my only carry gun.

Have you tried another magazine? Can you manually lock the slide back on an empty mag, or does it just happen at the range?

I only have one mag so i have not tried that. When the mag is empty it will still not lock back unless i manually do it with the slide lock.

There are two possibilities: 1) the magazine is not engaging the slide stop 2) there is something wrong with the slide stop The problem area you are looking for is on the left side of the pistol opposite the ejection port. When the last round ejects the magazine follower should engage the slide stop. Something there is not working for you. You may be able to observe the problem by watching through the ejection port while slowly cycling the slide. My guess is that it is the magazine as that is the most common cause of this type of problem. Check to see that the follower moves freely and isn't binding at the last round moves out. If you haven't already, field strip the gun and make sure there is no debris impeding the slide stop. If your situation allows, I suggest buying at least a couple of more mags immediately. It isn't uncommon for bottom feeding pistols to have magazine related issues, and having spares on hand is always good. Magazines can be fussy -- I have mags that run fine in one gun but jam in another. Magazines can get expensive, but I try to have a few on hand for each gun.

After looking at it i think the slide release is missing a part that should lift up as mag follower hits it when the mag goes empty. I looked on keltec site but it says they out of stock and they also dont put a picture.

Totalitarianism didn't come quickly, it took 5 years from 1938 until 1943, to realize full dictatorship in Austria . Had it happened overnight, my countrymen would have fought to the last breath. Instead, we hadcreeping gradualism Now, our only weapons were broom handles. The whole idea sounds almost unbelievable that the state, little by little eroded our freedom.

They'll send parts out no matter what number owners you are. Free. They're really good at that.

Hey! That's supposed to be a secret! But, you're right, in my experience.

Officially, warranty support is limited to the first owner. That might be true if they had to rebuild you gun, but Kel-Tec is still one of the most accommodating gun companies I have dealt with. They even ship replacement recoil springs . . . even though that probably should be a wear item. Great folks!

And, if you are careful to include all the information they need, you can request replacements via email from the their website. Now, that's easy!
