tatters, I think $300 is a good deal on a Hard Chrome model. If you really look around you might shave $15 off that, but personally that kind of savings isn't worth losing out in the immediate gratification of being able to come home with it.

Another way to go is to check Gunbroker.com and other online auction sites. Sometimes they have deals that offset the transfer fees.

Picked up the NIB chrome over black P-11 Saturday for just a tiny bit less than 300 OTD. Now comes the fun part....Grip sleeve, pinkie rest, trigger shoe, F&B, holsters..
    I'm liking this!!
    Thanks for the help, gang!

Post a pic for us to drool over when you get it done.

BTW, what kind of grip sleeve are you going to put on it?

I sure will. I'm was thinking about switching the grip to gray to match my P-32. I do like the chrome and black contrast, though.

Not sure what grip sleeve to get, I would like advice on that and holsters while I'm at it.

Here is a pic of my Stainless/Gray P-11 - the Hard Chome is a brighter silver, but it should give you an idea.

As for the grip sleeve, I like the Hogue Handall, Jr. on my P-40. It is a real bear to get on, however. I tore one just trying to get it on...

I am by no means an authority on P-11's.

    I just bought one.

But I l looked at used as well as new and I decided to "only" buy this Kel-Tec new.

It's because of the life time warranty to 1st owners only.

The gun is so inexpensive that I found I could get a new one for about $35 to $70 more than all the used one's I found.

The lifetime warranty and knowing the history of the gun is worth that to me.

I do buy used (too often my wife says ).

But my used purchases are usually a $200 to $300 price savings.

:P Luckily this whole gun new is only $250 to $300.

    imho

There is generally not much of a difference in the price of used vs new Kel-Tecs, so buying new is usually the way to go, unless you are after something specific that is no longer in production (Stainless Steel P-11, First Gen P-32 or P-3AT, or a P-40, etc). While KT states they only warranty to the OP, in practice they seem to service anything that is sent in, so it really doesn't make a huge difference.

Just bought a used (though it looks brand new) blued-on-black P-11 for a haggled price of $225, with the original box, manual, lock, anti-rust paper, tags, etc. I'd tried to locate a PF-9 originally, with no luck, but I think I'm going to be happy with the P-11. I'll know better when I have a chance to try her out.
