I have fallen from grace bought a Ruger LCP

Went to my favorite gun shop today, my wife was with me. She encouraged me to buy another gun if I really wanted one. Miracles do happen. They did not have anything from keltec so I bought a Ruger LCP. I have sinned but they said they have no problem getting rugers but very few keltecs come in anymore.

Since today was the day the UN wanted us to turn in our guns and surrender we had to buy something. I was carrying my PF9 I hope that counts for something toward absolution.

congrats on the lcp. im looking forward to a range report
Seems like KT's are popular lately.
Totalitarianism didn't come quickly, it took 5 years from 1938 until 1943, to realize full dictatorship in Austria . Had it happened overnight, my countrymen would have fought to the last breath. Instead, we hadcreeping gradualism Now, our only weapons were broom handles. The whole idea sounds almost unbelievable that the state, little by little eroded our freedom.

Relax! Many of us have LCP's. I bought mine back when they were the hot ticket and went through Ruger's recall as a result.

Neither of our P-3AT's seem too jealous when the LCP sits in the safe and they don't.

Thanks guys. I feel so much more righteous. Any how I felt no guilt when I purchased the weapon. Now maybe after church today I can go to the range.

Have both a P3AT and an Elsie Pea - like em both but favor the Kel-Tec

My experience is the same as many. I like the LCP and my bride of 35 years prefers it to the KT cuz it fits her hand better. Perfect because I carry the P3AT. I go to the range BEFORE 11am church because summer temps in AZ get wicked by mid-morn. I have several hundred rounds through each doing 'draw and fire' exercises with both pistols from my rear pocket holster. I want the motions of going from low level of readiness to be able to present my weapon ready to shoot within a few short seconds and training is the way for the required actions to become second nature. At the end of the day (that I hope never comes) that is the reason I carry concealed. Simple result is that the P3AT puts tighter groups downrange than the LCP. It allows me to acquire a target with a more natural feel and I can put all the rounds in a std silhouette at 25 feet. I carry empty chamber so my D&F includes chambering a round while drawing. Pretty smooth and very little loss of time but it DOES require 2 hands. I am ordering the +1 mag floorplate for the KT for 7+1. No space downside in my pocket holster.

And on a final note, apparently Ruger likes the P3AT really well too as they virtually copied the entire design for the LCP.

Glad you are happy, but consider how much better prepared you would be with a round in the chamber.

Kel-Tec's P-3AT is completely "drop safe" . . . and so is the LCP.

I finally got to the range with the new lcp.
Fired about 100 rounds, 50 rnds ww white box, 45 rounds korean, 10 rounds Hornady critical defense.
The first magazine did not go too well as the gun did not return to battery after each shot. The next magazine and thereafter had no problems.

The first 20 rounds or so went all over an 8 inch black shoot and see target at 7 yards. When the weapon and I settled down the remainder went into a single hole that could be covered with a quarter about 2 inches to the right of the center of the bull.

Shooting a ground hog target at 25 yards was a waste of time as well as a magazine popped off at a metal target at 120 yards.

I will start to carry it as soon as I have a similiar range time again until then I keep carrying my pf9.

Anyway the pf9 isn't much better at 125 yards than the lcp.

The LCP is on the way back to ruger. It fell apart. The pin that holds it together came loose and the slide went forward almost falling off the gun. I put it back together and made sure the pin was in and fired two more magazines. This kind of made me loose faith. I am now carrying my pf9.

I will let you all know how the Ruger customer service works out.

Isn't it convenient that Kel-Tec's are inexpensive enough to make a spare pistol practical.

Based on my experience, my fellow Arizonans at Ruger will take good care of you. But, I will be watching for your assessment.
