    Nfg

Hi, Iam Dave and I am an... ooooops sorry wrong place. I just bought a Kel-Tek PF-9, googled Kel-Tek forums and just like that I am here. I am from the Seattle area and this is my first personally owned powder burner. I have a heavily modified air pistol and rifle that i use for plinking and rodents. There has been a lot of broad daylight home invasions in the Seattle /Tacoma area as of late, bold smashing things throught the sliding doors whether people are home or not. I am a retired Navy Chief and have had small arms training so I have shot guns throughout my life but never owned or kept a firearm in my home until now. There is just something in the air that says to me that it is time to have some personal protection. It now rests in a drawer by my bed, seven in the clip and one in the chamber, Hornady 124gr XTP hollow points. I applied for a concealed weapons permit on the way home from picking up my pistol. Now I am catching up on the posts about the new gun. They are a hard gun to find, must be a lot people getting the same feeling I am.

Welcome aboard Chief, ENS Banana here.

It's insane that the west coast has gotten so bad that people will smash through doors without regard to whether people are home...

PF9 availability must vary by location, last time I was in the market for guns (though it's been a couple of months) there seemed to be a few to be had...

Hornady makes some fine ammo, and it seems that the PF9 prefers the mid-size bullet so you did well with the 124 gr. I'd get out to the range and run a few of them through it just to make sure it behaves for you.

    Welcome!
Have you taken it to the range yet? nothing like getting to know something that may save your life!!
It is better to avoid than to run; better to run than to de-escalate; better to de-escalate than to fight; better to fight than to die. the very essence of self-defense is a thin list of things that might get you out alive when you are already screwed.- From “Meditations on Violence
