What magazine for the .40 Sub 2000?

After checking several websites I'm still not sure what magazine the .40 2k takes. I think it uses the Glock 22 .40 mag., and I'd like the extended clip which holds 22 rounds. Can anyone set me straight on this? Is there a better mag to use? I found this http://usmachinegun.com/proddetail.php?prod=GLCK-40 and am wondering if it is the right sort to use. And where would be a good source for these?

    Thanks!

P.S. : I now see there are four types of clips the .40 Sub 2k will take : GLK22, GLK23, S&W4006, and Beretta96. Sheesh, now what?

    Few things:

Educationally, not to be an ass, these weapons take "magazines." "Clips" load magazines. Poor terminology, widely disseminated.

The 22-round magazine floating around for Glock .40 calibers is Korean made, and I've heard negative reports. I'd test the shit out of it before I trusted it for a defense gun, but more rounds before a reload are definitely a lot of fun when you're plinking.

The 2 Glock-mag versions of the S2K are identical except that the 23 version has a slightly shorter grip and will take the shorter G23 magazines in addition to the G22 mags and potentially the 22-round magazines you mentioned.

The S&W4006 and Beretta96 style rifles are their own individual birds, for individuals who own or prefer those handguns.

    Hope this helps

So all four magazines mentioned will work with the Sub 2k, it's just that if you happen to own a S&W and Beretta handgun they will work for those as well. Ingenious. Now I need to find out which of the four is the better quality to use.

    Thanks.

Not exactly. There are different models of the .40 S2K. One will accept S&W magazines. Another will accept those for Beretta magazines. The other two models accept Glock magazines. If yours takes Glock mags, it will not accept those for S&W or Beretta pistols. If it is made to accept Beretta magazines, buying magazines for Glocks or S&W's will be a waste of money, and so on. You must first know which magazines the grip on your S2K was made to accept before knowing which type of magazine to buy.

If you did not specify to your dealer to get a certain type, it is a fairly safe bet that it is a Glock type. They seem to outnumber the other types by a wide margin.

Ah, I see. Well, the only thing I specified was that I wanted it in .40 S&W. I don't know if that means it will have to take a S&W magazine or not. I was told it would take 1-2 weeks to arrive, and it's been 10 days so far. I guess we shall see. Right now I'm just seeing what accessories I can slip past the 'boss'. Since it's my birthday soon, I'll go for the gusto.

    Thanks again.

I called the gentleman that ordered my Sub 2000 and his response was that we won't know what kind of magazine it takes until it comes in. He mentioned it could be Glock, H&K, and one other whose name escapes me now. Anyway, it's past the 2 weeks delivery time so I'm really getting hoping it gets here soon.

You need to designate which magazine you want to use. GLK22, GLK23, BERETTA96, S&W4006, SIG226. Your dealer should have known or else should have looked it up for you. You may get one that you don't have magazines for.

    Pasquale51,

Somehow I'm betting he has gotten mags for the gun by now if he didn't have the right ones when it arrived. This thread was over a year old!
