I've noticed a shiny spot on the left front portion of the aluminum frame ( viewing it from rear to front ) as if the barrel is rubbing against it. The gun is working fine. I have about 300 -400 rounds through it. Is this just normal wear? No apparent rubbing on the right side of the frame. Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

Hello everyone,

I've owned a couple of PF9s in the past so am not new to that particular product. I recently got a new PF9 and had reliability problems with it. I was reading here for advice and enjoyed it so much that I registered. I also picked up some advice that helped me remedy the problem with my gun. Nice forum with interesting reading. Looking forward to participating.

Seems to be some question as to whether or not Keltec has upgraded the DFE link.I have recently purchased a KSG with serial# putting it in the low 10,000 range of production.
My manual came with an added "exploded view" diagram.Top right of diagram states "as of fourth quarter 2012". Bottom of diagram has "NOTE:KSG-334-CTG STOP ACTUATOR REPLACES KSG-319-DFE LINK(IN REV#112011 MANUAL) AND IS NOT REMOVABLE DURING DISASSEMBLY,AS SHOWN ON PAGE 12-13 IN REV#112011 MANUAL.
Comparing both diagrams appears to show a complete redesign of cartridge stops and DFE eliminator/cartridge stop actuator.
I also noticed mine has a metal plate same profile as part#139 pump buffer which is not shown in diagram and not listed in parts list.
Mine also has one indicator window on each mag tube.
Hope this helps.

Hey guys, new member here. I was lucky enough to win an auction at Buds Gun Shop for a brand new Kel Tec RFB for1600! Not bad for today's market... it is a black 18" barreled model with a Gen 2 gas system. I unfortunately only shot 6 rounds until I had a range day-ending malfunction. I was in the process of adjusting the gas system (bolt carrier was not moving back far enough to grab the next round) when I got what believed was a stove pipe. Thought it had failed to eject at first, but the bolt carrier was completely stuck.

When I got home I made sure there were no live rounds in the gun, and then used a cleaning rod down the barrel to push out the spent casing. I think I'll try different types of 7.62 next time. But anyways, while adjusting the gas system, I wasn't paying close attention to the detent pin and I had bent it! Doh! I emailed Kel Tec about it Saturday, and just this morning (Monday) they emailed me back saying they'll send a replacement detent pin and spring free of charge. Super quick response!

Anyways, if you guys have any tips on how I can make this gun as reliable as possible, let me know. Thanks!

Hi, I'm new here. just got this new p-11 from someone who put half a dozen rounds through it and their intended owner didn't like it (gift). Haven't had time to hit the range. So yes I know now that the manual says no dry firing, but I've done that a thousand times by now for the past two weeks or so. Today, it stopped.

Now I have to slightly or fully rack the slide to get the trigger to reset for firing again. I can also reset the trigger bar my pulling the striker back even slightly (with the slide off). I pulled the control group out of the grip and the trigger spring is in place under the bar, but after pulling the trigger, the trigger bar doesn't go back up behind the striker upon releasing the trigger. With the slide off, and the trigger bar in the correct place behind the striker, I can get the same problem by pushing the bar down by the striker. There appears to be wear on the frame where the striker lands. Maybe this is the cause? Did I wear it down so much that the striker rests too far forward now for the trigger bar to reach behind and pop back up ready for the next trigger pull, second strike or otherwise?

Don't tell me that slightly filing off the sharp part behind the trigger (so it doesn't cut me) or that putting in a snap cap would have prevented this. Ok tell me but only if it's true, please.

Okay, I promise I did a search on the topic as I was sure there would be lots of threads already. I couldn't seem to find anything specific. So I'm going to as a couple questions.

1) what are the benefits & drawbacks of the Kel-Tec / Red Lion handguards?

2) I noted that both these handguards show to be out of stock on both sites. Are these perpetually out of stock, or do they tend to be available fairly frequently?

3) besides their websites, is there any other source for these handguards? A google search didn't turn anything up. Anyone have a source?

I found one Kel-Tec handguard on eBay, but the seller wants $174 for it. Substantially more than they sell for on the website.

Thanks for any info on the subject and I apologize if I missed a thread n this if one already exists.
